My summer adventures in Pangnirtung, Nunavut!

Welcome to Fjord-venture Time! Here you can read about my personal experiences in Pangnirtung while I live and work in the community as the Environmental Wellness Intern for the summer of 2018.

By the way, "a fjord or fiord is a long, narrow inlet with steep sides or cliffs, created by a glacier" according to Wikipedia (not the best source I know, but it had the simplest definition). Pangnirtung is located in a fjord!

About Me

Hi! My name is Yashi and I'm a student at the University of Alberta in the MSc Urban and Regional Planning Program. I just finished my first year and have another year to go! Last year I graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies (also from the U of A). I'm really interested in planning environmentally friendly and sustainable communities.

For the summer of 2018 I'll be the Environmental Wellness Intern for the Hamlet of Pangnirtung. This position is a partnership between the Hamlet, the U of A's Graduate Student Internship Program and U of A's Engage North Program.

I'm super excited to be living and working in the Pangnirtung - it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! Be prepared for lots and lots of pictures!
